| Site Assessment & Remediation Services
Rapid Site Assessments
On-site sampling and analysis provide a fast, accurate portrait of subsurface conditions. Find
out if previous owners or tenants have impacted the soil, groundwater, or soil vapor on the
project property. Discover whether neighboring properties (such as service stations or dry
cleaners) may have affected the project site.
Rapid Plume Delineation
If contamination is verified, our team can determine the aerial and vertical extent of the
contamination quickly. On site sampling and analysis allows real time decision making regarding
well placement and additional sampling locations.
Soil Vapor Surveys
Vapor phase contamination can provide clues regarding groundwater and soil contamination. We
have discovered leaking underground tanks, illegal disposal of PCE in sewers, abandoned fuel
tanks, and source areas for groundwater contamination. This is a very useful tool for military
bases and industrial facilities, where previous spills, disposal sites, or operating units may
not have been documented.
Emergency Response
From odd smells in the sewer to tanker truck and rail car accidents, we have the tools to help
locate the source and the extent of contamination. Our services help ensure that the impact is
minimized and the effects are mitigated, restoring the site as quickly and cost-effectively as
possible.
Remediation Support Services
In addition to site investigations, we also help with the remediation. Our services include:
- ORC (oxygen releasing compound) injection: Our direct-push rigs can pump the ORC to the
desired depth in the required amounts. ORC helps in the bio-remediation of fuel hydrocarbons. We
do not sell ORC, but we install it correctly.
- HRC (hydrogen releasing compound) injection: HRC is proving to be useful in the remediation
of chlorinated hydrocarbons, such as PCE and TCE. We do not sell HRC, but we will professionally
install it.
- Long term monitoring: ESN-South can collect and analyze samples from vapor or groundwater
monitoring wells over time.
